10 years Younger Begins!

February 8, 2009 Area of Interest: Smile Makeover

Hurrah we have lift off! The first episode of Channel 4’s makeover series 10yy aired on thursday and it was a major achievement. This series we have a totally new format, two people being madeover one with surgery one without.
Of course there was not enough of the teeth shown during the programme :) but then I would say that wouldn’t I? Seriously though all the contributors had their smile treated by yours truly and I am totally delighted by the results

The fact that everyone’s smile was treated reinforces the importance of the teeth not just in the fight against ageing but in rebuilding their confidence.

There was only a year in the final pollbetween the two contributors and without a doubt the determining factor in the non-surgical case was her teeth. Without it she would not have stood a chance in the battle!

What do you think? Write and tell me what you thought of the new format

Hi Uchenna, love the blog. To be honest I was a bit disappointed in the new series. You were great, the teeth were amazing but there wasn’t enough of you in the show this time which was a shame as I enjoyed the more practical approach to the show last time. Felt lke they crammed too much in and sorry, dare I say it, the continuity was all over the palce. Also Myleene lovely, but sadly not Nicky. Good luck with the rest ofthe show and perhaps you could talk us through the makeovers in more detail on your blog? Ps loved your dress, where was it from??? Good luck. Marcia

Thank you, I am so pleased you are enjoying the show! I so agree with you about the dentistry but then I am biased :) To be fair the new series is packed with so many new treatments that it is a challenge to fit everything in. We are working on it so keep watching I promise it is just gonna get better and better…like all good things!

You looked great and the practice looks gorgeous as it always does. I agree with Marcia there is not enough focus on the teeth and it is the teeth (from my experience) that makes them look younger. Imagine if they kept the teeth as they were and did everything else eeekkk!
Thank you again for my wonderful smile - it definately made me look at least 15 years younger so my friends tell me :-} So easy, painless and the results FANTASTIC!.
I love the way every smile on the show so far is unique as well - you are a star!.

Hi Uchenna, it’s Kathleen here from the 10 Years Younger show, Series 6, Episode 1. I am still smiling and loving this series of the show. I had to visit my own dentist recently, just for a routine check-up and he was really interested in hearing about yourself,(he’s obviously watched all the previous series) and said he never misses the show. I loved the section last week, 12th March, where you went out into the street, so to speak, to introduce the public to electric toothbrushes. I have to say, I wouldn’t be without mine now. Good luck with the rest of the series and once again thankyou for all your hard work. I look forward to seeing more of your amazing work and transformations. Love and best wishes. Kathleen x

What transformations! Each of the makeovers appear life changing, but I have to agree with a previous comment. I feel the teeth sections are just too short. we can’t all go out and have plastic surgery, but we can all look after our teeth, and look and feel better for it. Please can we have more of you going out to the public and showing us how it’s done!
